Praised for her "effortless and honest performance, floating legato, and impeccable coloratura,” soprano Samantha Dotterweich is known for her versatility and artistry. Recent solo work includes Bach’s St. John Passion and Mass in B Minor (Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra; Emmanuel Music), Handel’s Orlando (Dorinda, Boston Early Music Festival Young Artist Program), Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day (Emmanuel Music), La Resurrezione (University of Notre Dame), and Messiah (Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra).
In Boston, Samantha sang with Boston Baroque and Emmanuel Music, performing over 30 Bach cantatas as well as the masterworks of Bach, Handel, and Britten. Her solo cantata highlights include Süßer Trost, mein Jesus kömmt (BWV 151) and Siehe, ich will viel Fischer aussenden (BWV 88). Since relocating to the Bay Area, she has begun establishing herself locally, performing with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Chorale and the choirs of Grace Cathedral.
Equally comfortable in baroque, classical, and contemporary repertoire, Samantha has premiered new works with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and Chorale, Emmanuel Music, Kosmologia Vocal Ensemble, Vocale, the Atlantic Music Festival, and the University of Notre Dame.
