Praised for her "effortless and honest performance, floating legato, and impeccable coloratura,” Samantha Dotterweich is a soprano known for her versatility and artistry. Recent solo performances include Bach’s St. John Passion (Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra), Magnificat (Emmanuel Music), and Mass in B Minor (Emmanuel Music), Handel’s Orlando (Dorinda, Boston Early Music Festival Young Artist Training Program), Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day (Emmanuel Music), La Resurrezione (Maddalena, University of Notre Dame) and Messiah (Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra).

 

While living in Boston, Samantha regularly lent her skills to the vocal ensembles of Boston Baroque and Emmanuel Music. She performed over 30 cantatas with Emmanuel Music in their weekly Bach Cantata Series as well as Bach's Magnificat, St. John Passion, Mass in B Minor, John Harbison’s Supper at Emmaus, Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, and Handel’s Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day. Her solo cantata highlights from Emmanuel Music include Süßer Trost, mein Jesus kömmt (BWV 151), and Siehe, ich will viel Fischer aussenden (BWV 88).

 

Samantha has sung world premieres with Emmanuel Music, Kosmologia Vocal Ensemble, Vocale, the Atlantic Music Festival, and the University of Notre Dame. 

Samantha resides in San Rafael, California.
